Project #1: Forest Entrance

As part of the board’s 5-Year Strategic Plan, we identified the Forest as one of our priorities. We broke the Memorial Forest goals into four manageable phases over ten years. Phase 1 (Project #1) is the entrance of the Memorial Forest.

As part of the board’s 5-Year Strategic Plan, we identified the Forest as one of our priorities. We broke the Memorial Forest goals into four manageable phases over ten years. Phase 1 (Project #1) is the entrance of the Memorial Forest.

Improvements include, but are not limited to:

  1. Granite entrance sign with lighting. (This includes preparation of the area.)
  2. New fencing around the entrance.
  3. A new gate. We prefer it to be ornamental and electronic. This would entail adding
the necessary electrical supply to the front entrance.

We have met with a fencing expert to recommend different options, requirements, and potential costs. We are gathering additional information to take to the Seattle School District and the King County Parks Department to get the okay to proceed.

If you’re interested in helping with Memorial Forest Project #1, please reach out via our contact form!

We are always looking for relevant expertise from our alums (e.g., construction management, landscaping, architects, project managers, and more).

Project #1 is funded by donations to the Alumni Association.
